SLSLM Inaugural Academic Conference: Call for Abstracts

SLSLM Inaugural Academic Conference 2023 – LIMCON 2023 “Advancing Evidence-based Practice and Practice-based Evidence in Lifestyle Medicine”

We wish to inform you that the Inaugural Academic Conference of the SLSLM will be held from the 5th to 6th of October 2023 at the UCFM Tower, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, 952 Maradana Road, Colombo 08. We are now accepting abstracts for oral and poster presentations.

Abstracts on relevant case studies/case series, quality improvement projects in primary care/family medicine, clinical audits, observational studies, pilot studies, interventional studies, systemic and narrative reviews, and/or public health policy analysis are now accepted. We encourage applicants to ensure that the work you submit is related to the prevention, treatment or reversal of chronic non-communicable diseases using lifestyle interventions in clinical settings.

Original, innovative and clinically relevant abstracts will be selected with the top entries been featured as oral presentations during a plenary session whilst the other selected abstracts will be poster presentations. Awards will be given to the best abstract in each category, i.e., oral and poster.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

● The abstract should be in Microsoft Word format.

● The File name should be the title of the abstract.

● The document should consist of a title page/s and the abstract page/s.

● Title page (first page)

○ The title of the paper should be concise and appropriate to the study.

○ Provide the email address and the mobile number of the corresponding author in the title page.

○ Add the details of all the authors in the title page. Please provide their surname with initials, designation and institutional affiliation (if any) in order of authorship. Please do not use prefixes such as Mr/Dr/Prof.

○ The presenting author must be underlined.

● Abstract page (second page)

○ Do not exceed 300 words.

○ Body of the abstract should be structured with the following subheadings:

● Introduction and Objectives

● Methods

● Results

● Discussion

■ For case reports and case series:

● Introduction

● Case report/s

● Discussion

● We encourage authors to use Times New Roman font with font size 12 and single line spacing.

● Please note that your file size must be smaller than 10 MB.
